Frequently Asked Questions

"What Experience Do You Have?"

I have been editing professionally for over two years. I have been the publications editor for the Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics since March 2010.  In May 2011, I also became responsible for formatting the journal.  I copyedit and format every paper that is accepted for publication.

I have also done freelance editing and formatting work for the World Bank and various academics and professionals.

"What Styles Do You Use?"

I am comfortable with Chicago, APA, and MLA guidelines.

"What Types of Editing Do You Do?"

I am proficient in both hard-copy and electronic editing using both Microsoft Word and LaTeX.

"What Types of Documents Do You Edit?"

I can edit any document written in English, but my specialties are academic papers, grants, and research projects, including theses and dissertations.  In particular, I specialize in line editing and formatting academic papers to journal standards, structuring theses and dissertation to graduate school specifications, and helping writers for whom English is not a first language craft strong manuscripts for journal submission and publication.

Fees will vary based on the project and be negotiated at either hourly or per word rates.  Please contact me with details about your project and I can provide you with more concrete information. I accept payments by credit card, PayPal, electronic fund transfer, and check from your institution.
